Nazareth House Singing - July 2014

On Wednesday 9th July a group of 10 students (Y9 & Y10) once again went to entertain the residents of Nazareth House Nursing Home (Manor Hill) with a programme of songs/performances.

Student behaviour throughout was brilliant and they represented Wirral Hospitals’ School JPC Campus in an exemplary manner. This was a fine example of JPC operating for and within the community in the local area in which it exists.

All pupils sang and played percussion instruments for the 30 minute programme. Several students performed solos and duets, two accompanied throughout on guitar and one particularly gifted student performed two instrumental compositions of his own on guitar. This slot was video-recorded and will form part of the evidence for his ‘BTEC First/Second Award in Music’ portfolio.

All performances were very well received and much enjoyed by the residents – several of whom got up to dance along to some of the songs. The reward for this dedicated effort was the appreciation and thanks shown by all the residents and staff present at Nazareth House.

Students will receive a copy of the letter of thanks that Sue Lewis (Entertainment Events Co-Ordinator, Nazareth House) always sends us - to add to their Record of Achievement and possibly, their CV.

‘Well done’ (once again) to the Singing Group!
