Eco Pie - October 2014

The student Eco-council, along with the support of myself and Mr Balfour (as our resident Masterchef), have spent the last few weeks perfecting their pie baking skills in order to enter Wirral's very own 'Eco-pie' contest.

To enter, students had to prepare a pie made from either ingredients that had been grown in school, or, from school leftovers.

We were fortunate enough to be able to make apple pie using apples grown on our own school trees that had been awarded, and planted, as part of a previous Eco award.

The students that went thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, and can be proud of how they interacted with adults and children from other schools, as well as the Mayor.

The students were rewarded for their hard work with second place, and very graciously stated how pleased they were not to have beaten the younger competitors who came first.

In addition to this.....lots of pie was enjoyed by all.
