VISIT BY MP ALISON McGOVERN

MP Alison McGovern visited school to talk to students about her role as an MP, British democracy and life in a multi-cultural society.  She also led a Q+A session, giving students the opportunity to learn about the life of an MP and the operations of UK Parliament. Alison talked openly about what drove her to become an MP and her passion for improving the life chances of all people in her constituency.

Our students were highly engaged with Alison's talk and asked some excellent questions that explored the work of an MP, how democracy works in Britain and how we can all be involved in making a positive change in our society.

After the talk, Alison toured the school with Mr Kitchin and was full of praise for the work of the school and the excellent manner in which our students participated in the session.

We are very much looking forward to continuing our links with Alison in the future as we fully explore what it means to be British in our modern, multi-cultural society.
