Headteacher meets celebrities at national conference for ADHD in Liverpool.

Mr Kitchin recently met with some famous faces as part of a national ADHD conference. He spent time with Rory Bremner and Rachel Macrfarlane. Rory Bremner is famous for his work on the comedy programs; Mock the Week; and Rory Bremner...Who Else? As a well-known and popular impressionist and political satirist he is also known for hosting the Channel Four game show Face the Clock. He co-starred with fellow comedians John Fortune and John Bird in the sketch comedy program Bremner, Bird and Fortune.

Bremner had always put his chaotic lifestyle down to his personality however after a young relation was diagnosed with ADHD, a few years ago, Bremner decided to investigate if he too could have the condition. Bremner says he now understands more about his own ADHD tendencies, what it is like to live with the disorder and how society's attitudes to it should change

Rachel McFarlane is a British singer who was born in Manchester in 1971. She began singing at the age of twelve years as a gospel singer. In 1998, she released her debut single "Lover" which made it to the UK Top 40. In 2004, she joined LMC to record the vocals for their track "Take Me to the Clouds Above" which peaked at number one in the UK chart. Two years later she also recorded "You Get What You Give" with the group. She also appeared as Justice/Mother in the London production of Rock of Ages.

Mr Kitchin took the opportunity to discuss Wirral Hospitals School, its outstanding work and current issues around ADHD and Education. Both Rory and Rachel were hugely impressed with the outstanding work of the school and are keen to visit  in the future, with Rachel hoping to sing as part of a fundraising event. We look forward to welcoming them to Wirral Hospitals School soon.
