Students walk the Famous Cobbles

A group of students recently enjoyed a trip to the set of Coronation Street. The day began with an interactive talk from the staff which included clips of the most famous storylines throughout fifty year history of the show. The students were then able to walk around some of the sets that are seen every week by millions of people. Many of the students commented on how small the sets were, compared to what they expected to see.

The next part of the visit allowed student to see the dressing rooms used by the stars of the show. This was quickly followed by a visit to the makeup and wardrobe departments where many of the iconic clothes and props used in the show were on display.

The next part of the trip was to see arguably the most famous set in the world. The Rovers Return. Pupils and staff were able to walk around the set and have their picture taken behind the bar!

The visit concluded with students being given free time to walk around the actual street used for filming and take pictures next to all of the famous landmarks. A brilliant day was had by all, with students gaining a real insight to the world of Coronation Street.
