Fairtrade cafe By Xenon and Cobalt

For P.S.H.E we have been learning about the importance of Fairtrade. We decided that to raise awareness for this issue we would have a café afternoon open to students and staff members.

We started off by planning what we were going to sell and checking if the product was Fair trade.

We then went to the Co-operative up the road to buy these items while Mrs Mitchell baked a lemon cake and brought tablecloths as well as fairy lights.

The event took place on Friday 24th June in the year 11 base. In the end we sold… tea, coffee, hot-chocolate, chocolate as well as cakes/muffins.

On the day we set up the café with the kitchen separated from the seating. We used two rooms one with comfy couches and chairs with one just having normal seating. The prices ranged from 50p - £1.40 to stay in budget with student and staff funds.

In the end we raised £58.32 which was donated to Claire House.  Thank you to all who supported us.
