Art at JPC in 2015

One of the main aims for the Arts Faculty next year is to forge more community links. We feel that it is vital for students to experience ‘Art in the Real World’, by visiting galleries, organising events and attending workshops lead by community artists.

Years 10 and 11 will be visiting Tate Liverpool to explore current exhibitions and listen to gallery based talks.

Community Artist Holly Langley will be visiting JPC to lead an arts day for the whole school, encouraging group participation as well as individuals’ creativity.

In February we will be running an event called ‘Love Art’, for which the Art, Music and food departments will collaborate to host a sale of students’ art work, accompanied by music from the school band and canapés made in the Food department. All profits raised will fund the expansion of the Arts curriculum with further visits and events.
