Year 10 Trip to Manchester Airport

Year 10 Computing trip to Manchester Airport.

Year 10 computing students enjoyed an excellent day discovering how technology and computing are fundamental to running Manchester Airport. The day began with a visit to the Runway Visitor Park overlooking the runway; where students saw aircraft jetting off to destinations all over the world. Student also watched the world’s biggest passenger aircraft land, the Airbus A380 and visited Concorde.
This was followed by a lecture aboard an aircraft about how computing technology plays a part in all aspects of the Organisation. From checking in, to security, to tracking planes on the air traffic control radar. After Lunch the students enjoyed a tour of the terminal seeing all of the computing technology in action.
