Autism Accreditation Status
Following an 18 month research and development programme, JPC was, in November 2017, awarded Autism Accreditation Status by the National Autistic Society.
The research and development phase included significant investment in our SEND team, national research into best practice for ASC-friendly teaching and learning, and frequent consultation with the most important people of all - our students.
The school has been transformed since the process began, both in terms of the physical environment and the teaching and learning techniques employed.
We have received a subsequent visit from the NAS in February 2018, where our learning environment was described as "Textbook perfect". During this visit, we were advised to apply for Advanced Practice Status.
In typical JPC style, we are not resting on our laurels - this acheivement is just a milestone on our journey, it is not the destination. We are continuing to review our sensory environment and the sensory 'diet' we are able to offer our students. We will continue to strive for excellence in this field and are excited about the journey to come.
