📚✨ An Interview About Reading with our Headteacher, Mr Arrowsmith ✨📚
As part of the National Year of Reading 2026 – ‘Go All In’ campaign, two of our student librarians interviewed Mr Arrowsmith about his love of reading and why reading is so important 📖
Some of his favourite books included Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden. He also shared that, as a teenager, he couldn’t put down Magician by Raymond E. Feist, describing it as “just brilliant”!
Mr Arrowsmith spoke about how reading helps to broaden horizons, improve vocabulary, and even support wellbeing:
“I can lose myself in a book, lose time…” 🌙📚»
He also highlighted the fantastic work happening at JPC to promote reading, including our library, Book of the Month, reading interventions, and dedicated reading spaces.
A huge well done to our student librarians for their brilliant interviewing skills 👏😊
We are also excited to share that we are planning a monthly staff reading feature/interview, giving students the chance to discover more book recommendations and learn about the reading interests of staff across JPC ✨
