Key Stage 3 Geography
In KS3 Geography, students will develop an understanding of the world around them. Students study a wide range of human, physical and environmental topics across KS3 including natural hazards, ecosystems, global development, population and climate change.
Students will also undertake fieldwork enquiries each year, on the school site or in our local area.
GCSE Geography
Geography is an option subject at KS4, studied in Year 10 and 11. Students follow the AQA GCSE Geography course and sit 3 papers at the end of the course. Paper 1 (Physical Geography) and Paper 2 (Human Geography) make up 35% of the grade each, whereas Paper 3 (Fieldwork and Skills application) makes up 30%.
GCSE Geography covers a wide range of human, physical and environmental topics and develops a wide range of transferable skills such as statistical and source analysis, using qualitative and quantitative data and formulating enquiry and argument. The course requires 2 days of fieldwork enquiry.
