Key Stage 3 ICT
Students have one lesson per week and cover a range of subjects. E safety (the identification of risks and how to stay safe when using technology.) are themes that run through all modules we study.
At KS3 students develop both ICT and computer science skills. They cover a range of subjects and software including:
Computer Science Theory - hardware, software, the operating system, binary numbers
Email, The Internet and Cloud Computing
BBC Micro Bit
Scratch Programming - introduction to Scratch, creating code to write a game, writing code to further improve a program, variable, loops, If statements
Computing Research Project - trends in computing, history of computing
Creative Media Project - creating digital video, audacity
Computer Science Theory - hardware, software, the internet, binary numbers, storage of data in computer systems, key algorithms, logical reasoning, Boolean Logic
Python Programming - basic coding, print, inout, variable, calculations, If statements, loops
