School Trip Opportunities
Trips and visits at JPC
At Joseph Paxton we offer a wide variety of opportunities to enrich and support students’ learning. Nearly all subject areas offer visits or invite visitors in to school to enhance experiences and bring learning to life.
Examples of some of the visits that have taken place include:
London Tate Gallery and West End
Williamson Art Gallery
Local Islamic Temple
Wallasey Town Hall
European War Graves
Various productions at the Floral Pavillion, Liverpool Empire and the Liverpool Philharmonic
Currently our KS3 students have the opportunity to join the Forest Schools or Developing Cycling Skills projects and different groups of KS3 students have recently made a short film for the Wirral Schools’ Film Festival and attended sessions at a climbing wall.
KS4 students have been developing their moves on a trampoline, orienteering and learning animal care skills at a local farm.
At least once a year, our Learning Mentors organise a short residential trip to Oaklands Outdoor pursuit centre. This is open to all age groups and is a fantastic way for our students to develop their physical and social skills whilst building resilience and confidence.
All students are encouraged to take part in relevant activities/visits and support is offered to those who find alternative programmes difficult to manage. For all local activities, although a voluntary contribution is often asked for, no student is excluded on financial grounds.
