At Joseph Paxton the aim of Physical Education is to introduce sport, activities and a healthy lifestyle into the students' lives. We provide a wide range of sporting activities during lessons, these include the following:
Activities outside of school have now been included into the Physical Education side of the school, such as swimming and the gym.
P.E in KS4 is linked with the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Students have the option to improve their skills in the outdoors. Students will develop skills in the following areas: orientation, team building, map reading and the assembly of camping equipment.

Sports Leaders’ Award
The Sports Leaders Award provides an ideal starting point for learners who wish to develop their leadership skills.
The syllabus is designed to develop leadership skills that can be applied to a wide range of sports as well as contributing to the personal development of the learner.
This award is a practical qualification in which learners demonstrate their ability to lead others in a simple sport.
