Yr11 University Trip

Y11 Trip to The University of Liverpool – Wednesday 30th March 2022

Y11 students started their day with some travel training by catching the 437 bus over to Liverpool. The cold weather meant the 20-minute walk up to the university wasn’t great fun, but it gave students the opportunity to immerse themselves in city centre life on a busy weekday morning.

Sarah Hanson from ‘Shaping Futures’, along with some current students from The University of Liverpool, were there to meet us on our arrival at the university.

Students were then given a very real experience of university life by having a session in a lecture theatre, a tour of the university campus and some time to explore university accommodation.

Students were invited to actively participate in a Q and A session where they could find out about progression routes to university and then on to different career pathways, and about university life in general.

There was such a thing as a free lunch as students were each given a voucher to spend in the Student Union shop.

Following this trip, a number of students have now said that they will seriously consider going to university themselves. Watch this space for future JPC graduates!
